Garden Birding @ Lorong Halus

Garden Birding @ Lorong Halus
Put your binoculars to good use in seeking out the colourful garden and scrubland birds of Lorong Halus Wetland. We hope to encounter resident birds foraging for food such as the Oriental Magpie Robin, Pied Fantail, Common Flameback, Sunda Pygmy Woodpecker, Pacific Swallow, Olive-backed Sunbird, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Common Iora, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, Red-breasted Parakeet, Red-wattled Lapwing, Scaly-breasted Munia and more. Some migratory birds might still be present, including the Blue-throated Bee-eater and Asian Brown Flycatcher. We will try for the rare Little Grebe, a small diving duck that lives in the area. Learn how to identify the water birds thriving at Serangoon River including various species of kingfishers, herons, egrets, as well as the White-breasted Waterhen. Tease apart the twitters to learn some common bird calls. We will reveal ethical birdwatching tricks to find more birds and polish your birdwatching skills. As a bonus, we might bump into Smooth-coated Otters and other cool wildlife. This bird walk is suitable for new and intermediate birdwatchers. For those without binoculars, we could loan you a basic pair for free.
